Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover Review and Demo

Hey everyone! Today I will be reviewing the Lancome Bi-Facil eye makeup remover, which retails for a steep price of £21 but it's totally worth it!

This Lancome Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover is extremely gentle and great for sensitive skin. I've used the Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover before and it always left my eyes blurry and I could feel the oils in my eye which was really uncomfortable, the Lancome one however did not do this and when it gets in my eye it feels as if there was nothing in it. It is also so much less oily than the Clinique one and has a lovely delicate rose scent, as do most Lancome products. It is very effective at removing makeup including stubborn waterproof mascara, it only takes a few wipes over the eye to remove all traces of makeup. It needs to be shaken up first as it has two layers and I use two cotton pads for each eye so that it is more effective as it doesn't rub makeup from the dirty cotton pad onto the other eye. With the excess product on the pad I sometimes use that to wipe off my facial makeup before I use my cleanser which gets rid of all the traces, I also haven't experienced any breakouts whenever I have done this.

From left to right: Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Eyeliner, Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Eyeliner, Maxfactor 2000 Calorie Waterproof Mascara

You can see from the pictures above how effective the Bi-Facil is. With only one quickly swipe it pretty much takes of most of the eyeliner and the waterproof mascara. The waterproof mascara came off just as well as the eyeliners which shows the potential of this product and why so many people rave about it. If I held the cotton pad down for a few seconds before wiping it off, I'm pretty sure that all of it would have came off in one go. I know that this product is expensive but I can honestly assure you that it is so worth it and it will change your skincare routine drastically. You won't ever need to scrub and tug on your eyes again because this works wonders!

Glossybox February 2013

This month’s Glossybox was all about Valentines and came with this beautiful limited edition box. This box is so much nicer and you can tell they have put in more effort this year than last year’s Valentines box with was just plain hot pink. I wasn't as pleased with this box as the January box because none of the products were particularly special and I would have liked to see a bigger branded product this month.

The box was beautifully packed with a hot pink bow and pink shredded paper.

Anatomicals - You Need a Blooming Shower! - £5 for 300ml

This shower gel smells amazing and just like roses! I've had other products from Anatomicals in previous Glossyboxes and I've liked their products however I would have liked to discover and try other brands. The price of this sample is £2.50 which isn't bad considering it's quite a big size.

Micabella Cosmetics Mineral Eye Shadow in Intelligence - £14.95 for 2.5g

This is a really pretty shimmery loose eyeshadow. I did see in other peoples boxes that they had an eyeshadow duo which I was really hoping to receive because I really don't like getting loose pigments because they are so messy and I find they are hard to work with. This eyeshadow is made from 100% natural mica and is said to be waterproof. The price of this sample is £5.98 for 1g.

Miners Cosmetics Lip Colour in Dreamer - £3.99 for 4g

This is a super shimmery pink lipstick that is on the frosty side. It's not the usual shade that I would go for because of the amount of shimmer in it, however I am looking forward to trying it out.

Sassoon Salon Professional Spray Shine - £14.89 for 250ml

I'm really looking forward to trying this product as it adds shine and UV protection to the hair. My hair is naturally shiny but I enjoy products that enhance the look of my hair. This sample is worth £2.98 for 50ml.

Mememe Cosmetics FatCat Lengthening Mascara - £7.99 for 8ml

I have so many backup mascaras for when I run out but I am excited to try a new brand I haven't heard of before, I think that you can never have too many mascaras because they only last around six months and I love trying new formulas and wands to find the best one out there for my lashes.

Glossybox Extra

As a little extra Glossybox included a heart shaped lollipop.

My Everyday Makeup Products

Recently my everyday makeup routine has consisted of mainly these products however I do tend to switch things up once in a while depending on how I feel.

The first product that I apply is the Mac Pro Longwear concealer to the areas which need extra coverage, such as any breakouts or scars. However I don't always use this product depending on which foundation I am using, but in conjunction with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua I mostly use it because Vitalumiere Aqua is a light coverage foundation. I swear the shade NC15 and it’s a liquid concealer which a little goes a long way and leaves a natural finish to the skin. I'd say that it has a medium buildable coverage, however something I feel that if I use too much it can go a bit cakey. The downside to this product is that the pump is hard to control and when I just need a little bit, a whole pump ends up coming out which then I don't use all the product and have to wipe the excess away. It is a good concealer, however I wouldn't say that it is the best concealer out there and I am still on a hunt to find my perfect concealer.

I then apply Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in shade B10 all over my face, but more concentrated in the areas that need most coverage. I strongly recommend this foundation for people who have a good complexion because it has a light coverage and give a really natural finish. It’s also really good for people who do need a bit more coverage because you can just use it with a concealer and still get the added benefits of the natural effect. This foundation has a really nice light scent which isn't too overpowering. I have really oily skin and this foundation works really well for me and I have also heard people with normal and dry skin who really love this product as well, so it’s great for all skin types.

If there are any areas which need to be covered up which after applying foundation kind of wiped off some of the coverage then I'll go in with my Benefit Boi-ing concealer in the shade 01 which I think is a bit too light for my skin but it works alright when blended in. This concealer has good coverage, but sometimes I find that it can look dry, so I wouldn't recommend it for dry skin.

I use the No.7 Perfect Light powder in translucent to set my makeup, it’s just an ordinary powder and doesn't have anything special about it but it does the job at setting my oily skin. Throughout the day my skin does become oily so it doesn't keep the skin looking matte for a long period of time, but you can just reapply powder or use blotting sheets to control it. I also use the Urban Decay De-slick setting spray to set my makeup which makes it last longer and kind of blends in the makeup too. I use 4 squirts on my face; on my forehead, nose and mouth area and both sides of my cheeks.

Recently my go-to blush has been Lancome Blush Subtil in the shade Rose Sable. It’s a lovely natural shade with a hint of shimmer which looks great on all skin tones and stays on my cheeks all day. I do switch up my blush depending on how I feel and the look that I am wearing, but the main two would have to be Lancome Rose Sable and Benefit Coralista. I must admit that I am kind of blush-obsessed, for some reason I just always have an urge to buy them.

For a quick and easy eye look I use my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the shade On and On Bronze which is a gorgeous natural eyeshadow with shimmer. It looks amazing and as if you have spend a long time on your eyeshadow when actually you just stuck your finger in a pot and rubbed it on your lid. I get oily eyelids and at the end of the day this tends to crease which is annoying, however if you don't have oily eyelids then this won't be a problem for you.

For eyeliner I use the Rimmel Glam Eyes liquid eyeliner which is really easy to control and is great for thin and thick lines. Another plus is that it is affordable and can be found is all drugstores. For mascara I use Benefit They're Real which is absolutely amazing at lengthening and thickening lashes. It has a plastic wand which separates the lashes and doesn't make them clump but it also has a spiky ball on the tip, quite like a medieval weapon, which is great for getting the inner, outer and lower lashes.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you enjoyed this post! Feel free to leave feedback and tell me what products do you use in your everyday routine?

Orly Naughty or Nice Holiday Collection

Hi everyone, today I went to Tkmaxx and picked up the Orly Naughty or Nice trio set for only £14.99, the original retail price was £29.99 which I thought was a really good deal for three quality nail polishes. These are actually my first nail polishes from Orly so I'm pretty excited to try them out and see if it lives up to all the hype.

From left to right: Devil May Care, Miss Conduct, Unlawful

Devil May Care has small red glitter and gold hexagonal glitter suspended in a clear base. The coverage of this nail polish is sheer as you would expect from a glitter polish and in the picture below I applied two coats of each of the polishes, however for best results I would recommend applying three coats of this one for a more opaque finish. Devil May Care can also be layered over top of Unlawful to give it a solid opaque base.

Miss Conduct has scattered holographic glitter suspended in a magenta base. This one has more coverage than Devil May Care because it is suspended in a coloured base and looks great with two coats.

Unlawful is a red crème colour that is extremely pigmented and opaque. With only one coat this polish looks stunning and has a high shine finish.

The formula of these Orly nail polishes are outstanding and has a fast drying time so it's great for those of you who can't do your nails without touching other things and then end up smudging your nails. All the Orly polishes are DBP,Toluene and Formaldehyde free which is an added bonus. The cap is a soft rubbery material which helps to grip onto it more easily without your fingers sliding while painting it onto your nails.

Cupcake Nail Tutorial

Hey everyone! I thought I could share this cupcake nail design that I did. I think that is it really cute and you can switch up the colours to your preference, and great for all the cupcake lovers out there!

I'd say that this design is quite hard if your a beginner and you need a steady hand, but even if you don't it will look great from a distance! As you can tell mine aren't perfect. Here's a step by step guide to getting these nails:

  1. Apply a base coat of your choice evenly onto all your nails
  2. Apply two coats of a light pink nail polish onto all your nails except the middle fingers
  3. Using a long thin nail art brush and a dark pink polish (or a dark pink nail art pen) carefully paint three strips on top of the light pink nail polish
  4. For the middle fingers, apply the same light pink nail polish onto a third/half of the nail
  5. With a white nail polish, paint three small strokes creating a cloud-like shape and create a curve for the top of the cupcake, and fill in the gaps
  6. Using a dotting nail tool or a tooth pick apply some sprinkles onto the cupcake
  7. Use a glittery dark pink colour, put a cherry on top of your cupcake
  8. Finally, seal in your design with a top coat and add a beautiful shine!
